From in-house needs to a growing laser-cutting business
BIP Distribution Laser, part of the B.I.P. Group, first introduced laser cutting to support its own production and later expanded the service to public and private customers.
The B.I.P. Group also includes Perolo, a manufacturer of industrial valves. Its capabilities extend beyond laser cutting to threading, milling, welding, bending, and assembly.
After acquiring its first laser cutter in 2008 and later adding a second, the company faced the limits of aging equipment, restricted material versatility, and a facility that was becoming too small. BIP decided to invest in a new machine and relocate to a larger facility in Saint-Marien, closer to major transport routes.
“Our building was becoming too small and our machines were aging, so the idea emerged to purchase a new one—and, most importantly, move to a new building closer to major transportation routes.” Catherine Lentz, Site Manager, BIP Distribution Laser
