What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files which contain computer data. They are used to browse the web site and are stored on the user’s terminal device, e.g. a computer. The cookies used by and do not collect the personal data. The user can make decide how cookies are used on his/her terminal device.

This is aimed at collecting the data about the way in which the web site is used and the popularity of the web site. Types of cookies and how they are used by and

SESSION COOKIES: These are stored temporarily and automatically removed after a certain time or when the web site or the Internet browser is closed.
Purpose: Web site navigation improvement, among other things.

PERMANENT COOKIES: These remain on the device for a certain time or until the user deletes them from his/her terminal device.
Purpose: Storage of the information about whether the user is a new or returning user, and whether the user browsed the web site via a partner.

THIRD-PARTY COOKIES: Cookies from partner services such as Facebook, Google and Google Analytics.
Purpose: Production of statistics and analysis of behavior on the Internet and consumer preferences.

How are cookies activated/deactivated?

The user can change the browser settings any time. This is done differently in each browser. For example, users of Internet Explorer 8.0 must: 1) Select Tools in the menu and then select Internet Options; 2) go to the Privacy tab; 3) use the slider to adjust preferences. Many Internet browsers permit the installation of cookies on the user’s terminal device by default. The web site informs the users that turning cookies off may affect web site functionality.

What kinds of data are processed? and contain links to other web sites. Whenever the user goes to a new web site, the user should familiarize with the privacy policy for cookies that applies on that web site.
